How to successfully grow cucumbers?

This plant, which grows quite quickly, does not like the cold. Cultivation is carried out in greenhouses or outdoors far from cold periods. You should therefore avoid sowing the seeds too early. Sowing or planting is done when it is around 20°C.

Cucumber seeds are sown in April-May, in containers at a rate of 3 to 4 seeds. Transplanting into the ground is carried out from mid-May to June, with a spacing of approximately 80-100 cm. The harvest begins from July and lasts until October. Hoeing around cucumber plants is strongly recommended and mulching will allow you to maintain good soil moisture. Regular watering is essential.

Good to know

Via their tendrils, cucumber plants can cling to surfaces. Thus, it is possible to let them climb by providing them with support or let them crawl on the ground while guaranteeing them the space necessary for their growth.
