What are the health benefits of garlic flowers?

Garlic is rich in mineral salts and fatty acids. The plant also contains many antioxidants. These are nutrients whose mechanism of action affects the cessation of oxidative processes in a living organism. They can be of unstoppable help to your houseplants!

To use garlic as fertilizer, you must first peel it. Then make small incisions in the garlic and plant several cloves there.

Then place a clove of garlic in each jar. The soil will absorb its nutrients and later release them into the plants. Keep the plant in the pots with soil for up to 20 minutes. If left in the soil for too long, the garlic rot process will begin and the plants may wilt.

Garlic helps prevent the formation of fungi and the proliferation of microbes in the soil. A moderate amount of juice of this plant interacts with the composition of the soil and acts as a natural disinfectant. Thus, harmful micro-organisms that live in the soil are neutralized.

We advise you to fertilize flower pots with garlic cloves at least once every two weeks. After a month you will already notice the result. Your houseplants will not only look healthier but they will also bloom longer.

Other Garlic Tips in the Garden

Garlic is also  an excellent natural repellent. You can plant a clove of garlic near vegetable plants to repel aphids or flies. It will also improve the taste of certain vegetables. Garlic can also be planted near flowers to preserve them. Finally, it is possible to prepare a garlic-based insecticide to spray on the leaves at sunset.

Other Gardening Tips

1. Water with the cooking water

Any cooking water can be used to water the plants, as long as no salt has been added. Steamed vegetables or hard-boiled eggs work well as long as they are at room temperature. They can be used all year round!

2. Feed with leftover red wine, coffee grounds, avocado stones

Wine is rich in protein and acts as fertilizer. I dilute it to 10% in water and use it as fertilizer for orchids. As for cacti, they love milk, rich in calcium. If you have a bottle left with a little milk in the bottom and on the sides, same principle: fill it with water, shake and sprinkle them with it. Another source of nutrients: coffee grounds and the inside of tea bags. We leave them to dry for 24 hours. Then we add 1 tbsp. teaspoon on the surface of green plants, lightly scraping the soil. Avocado stones are also interesting: they are ground in a blender to obtain a small powder to place on the surface of the potting soil. These natural fertilizers can be used once a quarter, especially in spring and autumn, no more. But not in winter: the plant is resting, it doesn’t need it.

3. Clean the leaves or boost flowering with banana peel

With the inside of the skin, we clean the leaves of green plants; this is especially true if they are in a kitchen and tend to be greasy. Very effective ! The skin can also be used as fertilizer: outside, once a month, at the foot of rose bushes and hydrangeas, from January-February. Finally, it can also be made into a fertilizer: in 1 liter of water, it is left to macerate for 24 hours.

4. Repel diseases and midges with onion peels Natural antifungals, they are also rich in sulfur. Macerate them in 1 liter of water for 24 hours, then water the green plants with them from above, to repel the midges. This also works with leek greens.
