- Repeat daily until mealybugs are eradicated.
Note: White vinegar is effective against aphids and bindweed as well.

Marseille Soap Solution:
- Dilute one tablespoon of liquid Marseille soap and one tablespoon of liquid black soap in half a liter of non-limescale rainwater.
- Add two tablespoons of 70° alcohol to the solution.
- Apply the mixture to the mealybugs with a brush, avoiding contact with delicate plant parts like orchids.
- Mealybugs will dry up and crumble after a few days.
- Alternatively, dissolve Marseille soap shavings in hot water, soak a sponge, and wipe infected leaves.
Alcohol and Black Soap Solution:
- Mix one teaspoon of rubbing alcohol, one teaspoon of liquid black soap, and one teaspoon of vegetable oil in one liter of water.
- Spray the solution onto mealybug-infested parts of the plant once every 3 to 4 days.
- Black soap acts as a natural repellent against mealybugs, aphids, and red spiders.
Preventing a Mealybug Attack:

- Introduce natural predators of mealybugs, such as ladybugs, hoverflies, and wasps, to your plant environment.
- Provide adequate ventilation and avoid over-misting indoor plants to reduce humidity, which mealybugs thrive in.
By following these tips, you can effectively eliminate mealybugs from your plants and prevent future infestations, ensuring the health and vitality of your indoor and outdoor greenery.
