You will need:

  • An avocado pit
  • Some toothpicks

  • Of the earth

Clean your avocado pit well. Insert 3 or 4 toothpicks into the middle of the core, inserted point upwards 5 mm. Then, place it in the glass of water, it should be partially submerged in it. Then install it in a warm room. Make sure it is at least 1/3 submerged in water at all times. Be careful, it must never be completely covered with water, otherwise it risks rotting before it even germinates.

After a while, the core will split and release the root. When it appears, all you have to do is wait for the stem to appear. Be particularly careful not to damage the core, it is better not to touch it. It’s also important to make sure the toothpicks hold firmly.

When you notice the first  leaves appearing , you can then transplant your avocado tree to the ground. Place the core in light potting soil. Make a planting hole and pour some compost into it. Insert the plant and fill the hole with moist potting soil. Remember to install the plant in a bright location or in partial shade, away from drafts. It will look great in the house, thus enhancing your decoration.

The advantage is that the potted avocado tree is easy to maintain. It likes warmth, lots of light and frequent watering but not in small doses. Using a mister, wet the leaves with soft, non-calcareous water. Indoors, always make sure the soil is draining by adding small clay balls. If you plant it in the garden, the soil should not be too compact and watering should not be excessive.
