Want to grow your own tomatoes?

The first step, above all else, is pre-planting. The most convenient option is to purchase tomato seedlings. Choose a few attractive varieties and simply transplant them into a sunny spot in the garden. Ideally, put your plants in the ground around the beginning of March, when there is no longer any risk of frost, as the tomatoes can suffer greatly.
It is best to plant them in fine soil with rich organic compost and/or organic fertilizer. Select a disease-resistant VF-1 hybrid variety or one that best suits your needs and climate zone. Try to transplant during cool hours, in the morning or evening, so that the plants do not experience a sudden change in temperature or environment during the process. Don’t worry about their somewhat sad appearance, during the first two days, the plants need to adapt to their new surroundings. Be sure to place a tomato cage around the plants before they get too large.
Planting Seeds in Greenhouses

The next step is to use good seeds for the tomatoes you are going to plant. It is very important that the seeds are stored in a safe place. With greenhouses, you will save time because you can start the process as soon as winter ends. In fact, in warmer climates, you can start planting seeds in greenhouses as early as January. You will need a few small plastic cups and a bag of rich organic soil, such as potting soil.
As there is a very wide variety of seeds, when selecting them, it is up to you to decide on those that suit you most: small sweet cherry tomatoes or larger varieties. Once you’ve made your choice, fill the nursery cups with some organic soil and sprinkle with some tomato seeds. Make sure the soil remains constantly moist. Place containers near a source of natural light or under fluorescent lights for at least 6 hours per day. In the next 10 days, when it is warm, the germination process will take its course and you will then notice the appearance of the first shoots.
How to get bigger, juicy tomatoes

Specialists recommend an extremely easy and natural solution. This involves using a plant, known as “Ponytail”. In botany, it is called “Equisetum Arvense”, it is one of the oldest medicinal plants, easily found in America and Europe.
Many farmers regularly use compost made from this plant to grow tomatoes in greenhouses or gardens. But, there is a process to do before applying it: you must first let it soak, and once well macerated, it turns into a very rich fertilizer for the rapid fruiting and ripening of tomatoes.
Instructions for use: the “ponytail” plant can be used in its entirety (the root and the flower), by soaking it in water for three days. Use approximately one liter of macerate for 10 liters of water. This mixture will then be used to sprinkle the fruits , but also the roots of the tomatoes, so that they become larger and juicy.
The effect will be visible during maturation. In addition, thanks to this natural compost, the tomatoes will benefit from a necessary quantity of phosphorus and potassium. Thus flourishing and well nourished, you will enjoy a very fruitful harvest of beautiful, fresh and tasty tomatoes!
