To grow jasmine and have endless amounts to perfume your house, you can follow these two simple methods:
Method 1: Growing Jasmine from Cuttings in Water
Ingredients:
- Several jasmine cuttings
- A large glass container with a lid
- Water
- A flower pot
- Potting soil
Preparation:
- Fill the glass container with water.
- Place the jasmine cuttings in the water.
- If the container has a lid, remove the leaves from the bottom of the cuttings, leaving some at the top before closing the container to allow roots to grow. If there’s no lid, simply place the cuttings in the water.
- Change the water every three days.
- Keep the container in a semi-shaded location.
- After about two weeks, roots will start to grow from the cuttings.
- Once the roots are abundant and strong, it’s time to plant them.
- Fill the flower pot with potting soil and gently plant the cuttings with roots.
- Cover the roots with more soil and water the plant gently, ensuring the soil remains moist.
- After about a month, the first jasmine leaves will appear.
Method 2: Planting Jasmine Cuttings in a Pot
Ingredients:
- A wide-mouthed pot
- Potting soil
- Several jasmine cuttings
- Water
Preparation:
- Fill the pot with potting soil.
- Place the jasmine cuttings in the soil, ensuring they’re separated from each other.
- Remove the lower leaves from the cuttings to expose the stem.
- Cover the cuttings with more soil and water them lightly.
- Keep the pot in a semi-shaded location.
- Water the jasmine only when the soil is dry.
- After about a month, you’ll start to see the first jasmine leaves appearing.
By following these methods, you can easily grow jasmine plants and enjoy their beautiful fragrance in your home.
