Water is an essential element for plants.  In addition to hydrating plants, it helps  transport nutrients from the soil to plant cells. In addition to this, the evaporation of water caused by the phenomenon of transpiration helps regulate the temperature of plants and cool them. That said, although water is vital for plants, you can choose to water them, during their growth period, with a liquid fertilizer,  which will both hydrate the flowering plants and nourish them,  to stimulate their growth and flowering. To enjoy flowering orchids, you can water them with one of these natural fertilizers.

Green tea

Green tea is a very effective fertilizer for stimulating the flowering of orchids and keeping them healthy. It is, in fact,  rich in elements essential for plant growth  such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. To use this natural fertilizer, simply infuse a few green tea leaves in hot water and let this infusion cool. Then use the solution to water the orchids.  This liquid fertilizer can be used once a month, during spring and summer. Also, use this fertilizer sparingly, as anything in excess could  cause flowers and leaves to fall off.

Banana peels

Banana peels are rich in potassium and nitrogen. To make your orchids bloom again,  mix banana peels with water.  Let it sit for 24 hours, then use this liquid to water the orchids.

Rice cooking water

Rice water is a good fertilizer for plants.  This natural fertilizer is rich in starch, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. In addition to stimulating the growth of plants,  it improves their photosynthesis process,  and stimulates the growth of good bacteria in the soil. To stimulate orchid flowering, simply collect this water, let it cool and then use it to water your orchids. Note that rice cooking water is not the only liquid fertilizer beneficial to plants. Water from cooking starchy foods like potatoes or pasta can also be helpful for your plants.
